Things to do in Las Vegas with kids

If you’re going to Las Vegas with family, you’re not alone! Every time I visit The Strip, I see plenty of parents with kids in tow.

Here’s a list of fun things to do in Las Vegas with kids so they don’t get cranky from being bored! Like other popular destinations, entry fees to attractions can be on the pricey side on the Las Vegas Strip.

Go on a hike

If you’ve read my other posts, you’ll notice that I’ll fanatically recommend enjoying nature in Las Vegas. You don’t need to be expert outdoorsy people to have fun, either. Your family can enjoy the views without leaving the car as you drive through Scenic Drive at Red Rock Canyon. You can take a leisurely walk together or set up a picnic at one of their kid-friendly trails.

Las Vegas is also a popular hub to take bus tours to nearby state parks like Grand Canyon National Park. Most tours can pick you up, provide refreshments, and drop you back to your hotel at the end of the day.

HyperX Esports Arena

Luxor Hotel & Casino ∙ 3900 S. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89119 ∙ (702) 723 – 2355

You don’t have to be a professional gamer to have fun. They have daily tournaments on games such as Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart, and Rocket League. If your kids would rather do their own thing, their lobby has an internet cafe where you can rent computers starting at $15 for one hour.

Your kids need to be 13 years old or older if you’re just dropping them off. If they’re younger, they need to be accompanied by an adult.

This summer, the first prize winner of the Fortnite World Cup won $30 million. Your kids can live out their e-sports dream at the HyperX Esports Arena at Luxor.

Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N.

Treasure Island Hotel & Casino ∙ 3300 S. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89109 ∙ (702) 986- 0922

Take your kids here if they’re big fans of the Marvel movies. Inside there are mini interactive exhibits on characters like Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man. The coolest part was seeing Thor’s hammer and a row of shiny Iron Man suits in person. You can also just look through the lobby gift shop and buy merch instead.

For a limited time, Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. is offering free entry to kids under three years old and 2-for-1 tickets if you’re a Treasure Island guest (check their official website for details).

FLY LINQ Zipline

FLY LINQ Zipline ∙ S. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89109 ∙ (702) 777 – 2782

The FlyLINQ Zipline is the newest amusement ride in Las Vegas. You’ll find it at LINQ Promenade in the middle of The Strip near The High Roller Ferris wheel. Up to 10 members of your group can go at the same time and you can choose between a seated, flat, or backward position. Your kids need to be at least 60 lbs and 3’4″.

Free things to do in Las Vegas with kids

We saw kids lining up to take a picture with the polar bear mascot at the Coca Cola store. At the M&M’s WORLD Store, we saw kids taking a photo with one of the M&M mascots.

Both can be described as “touristy” activities and not entirely unique to Las Vegas, but it’s free!

Fun Dungeon at The Excalibur (free to look around, but you’ll need to pay for the arcade games)

Kid-friendly shows in Las Vegas

You’ll have a good selection of kid-friendly shows on the Las Vegas Strip. In Tournament of Kings, your kids can watch a live-action show involving knights, swordfights, and horses (dinner included!). Your family can watch cute animals perform tricks at Popovich Comedy Pet Theater. You can also take them to Blue Man Group and JABBAWOCKEEZ for a high energy show.

Sweet Treats

We all know that too much sugar is bad for you, but when you’re on vacation, a special treat (or two) is encouraged.

Black Tap has the most Instagrammable shakes on the Las Vegas Strip. You can snack on Hello Kitty-shaped pastries and buy Sanrio merch at Hello Kitty Cafe. SUGAR FACTORY is a “touristy” restaurant chain you’ll find in every major city, but their giant punch goblets (alcohol-free for kids) topped with candy and smoke can amuse anyone in your family.
